First things first, we encourage you to be as creative as you can. Really let your personality shine through. The more “you” you sound, the more likely you are to appeal to potential employers.

Second, as you only have space for three reasons at 60 characters each, you need to keep it short and sweet. Choose information that will really sell your abilities in as few words as possible.

Below are some examples based on different types of eldercare providers:

New Caretaker

You are new or just starting out in eldercare and don’t have much experience. But never fear! Just because you don’t have years of experience under your belt doesn’t mean you can’t be an excellent candidate.

Some examples of reasons you could provide are your work ethic, your commitment, your love of people, your drive, and so much more.

Here are some examples that may help you better frame your own reasons:

“I’ve taken care of my own parents as they’ve aged.”

“I am a kind, gentle, empathetic, and respectful person.”

“I will discreetly perform tasks to uphold patient dignity.”

Experienced Caretaker

You have had many eldercare jobs or years of experience under your belt and have the skills to prove it. This is a great position to be in, but it doesn’t mean you don’t still need to sell your skills to employers.

The best way to approach the ‘Reasons To Hire Me’ section is to highlight your track record and show your successes. By mentioning your years of experience, areas of expertise, comments made about you by previous employers, and other similar ideas, you will be able to better stand out as an experienced elder care provider.

Here are some examples that may help you better frame your own reasons:

“I am an RN with 10+ years of patient care experience.”

“All my patients have told me I have gentle hands.”

“I am particularly good with dementia or Alzheimer patients.”

Retirement Home or Hospice

You work with or run a team of trained eldercare providers who have many years of experience and operate your own facility for long-term care. This enables you to really sell your in-house service and make sure that clients know your service will be consistent no matter what time of day it is.

To showcase your service, we suggest mentioning things like how many caretakers you employ, what their qualifications are, and what your facilities are like.

Here are some examples that may help you better frame your own reasons:

“We have a rotating staff of over 20 trained nurses.”

“All of our staff hold certifications related to eldercare.”

“We offer private rooms with full meal plans and activities.”
